Check in

Why do we hide so much? From ourselves, from friends, from family, fom people who want to help us…

We desire to be free and yet we imprison ourselves. Hiding our feelings, our questions, our concerns; all of this hiding just leads us into feeling more trapped.

Have you ever said something and all of the sudden you could start to breathe again? That is the feeling of being free! We owe it to ourselves.

The first person we should open up to is our own self and often it is the most difficult yet important step. Coming to terms with yourself, understanding what you want, questioning yourself…

⁃ Am I doing this for me?

⁃ What could I do better?

⁃ What do I want to do?

⁃ How do I feel about this?

⁃ What I can do to make myself feel better/more satisfied?

⁃ How am I treating myself?

It is important for us to learn that asking ourselves questions like these and having this inner dialogue is extremely important for our self improvement. We cannot improve for others, we must do it for ourselves. And who can know you better than YOU?

Often times we go by in such an automatic state we never check in with our feelings, necessities, challenges, emotional state etc…

I encourage you to begin exploring and hearing yourself out! Right here, right now. If you don’t do it, who will?

The Real Obstacles

Thinking is creating. As I have mentioned before, our thoughts and ways of thinking is what creates our reality. We often ask ourselves “why am I in this position?” Well, it must be because at some point you agreed to be in that position. Every decision we make is based on our intentions. We get a new job because we need more money or stability, we buy new clothes because we need to look better, we move to other cities and countries searching for better opportunities. So, if all our decisions are based on our intentions and what we want out of these decisions, why do we constantly create negative views?

We embark on a new project and most of the time we think to ourselves “what if it fails?”, “what if I’m not good enough?” But, if our intention is prosperity, why would we think otherwise?

We long for a bright future, a new life, a change and yet we continue acting the same as always. How can we expect change if we don’t change?

Most of the time we have a hard time changing, we create obstacles for ourselves based on false beliefs that we have accepted as truths. All of these false and negative beliefs have created a huge boulder in the living room of our consciousness. The real problem is that we have learned to live around this big stone of false beliefs and it brings us down. We have made “peace” with it, accepted it. But, why? Why would we accept negative aspects of ourselves as truths? If all we want out this life is the positive, we must believe it so.

We must be able to clear our paths of these negative milestones in order to achieve our personal growth. This boulder has gotten to be so huge, you have just decided to accept it. By accepting it all the energies and notions created in you numerous false beliefs about yourself and the world around you.

False beauty standards, misleading views on success and “the perfect life”, are some of these created boulders we have accepted as truths. These false beliefs are obstacles in our consciousness. Who has the power to take this boulder out of their living room? Yes, we do. If you don’t take the trash out in your house, no one else will do it for you.

I encourage you to take out the trash in your mind, free yourself of these boulders, and start accepting life for what it is. A limitless world full of opportunities, with enough space for everyone to grow and create as much as they want to create. Why are wasting our time?

Welcome Yourself

Why is it we feel the need to fill up silence?

I have mentioned the importance of silence before, but in this post I would like to explore it with you.

Whenever we are at home, in the car, at the beach, or even with friends, at some point there comes a moment of silence. We sometimes call it “awkward silence”, but why is it awkward?

We automatically start blabbing about non-important topics, maybe about the latest Kardashian scandal, but on the inside we truly don’t want to talk about that. We just can’t stand the silence so we fill it up with the first thing that occurs to us.

Have you ever thought this could be our own fear of being real? Fear of, for a moment, hearing our actual thoughts and sharing them? What is wrong with talking about what you really feel? Why do we feel ashamed of expressing our emotions and thoughts?

We are not confident with silence maybe because we aren’t confident with our thoughts, with ourselves. Because we have put them aside for so long and acquired everyone else’s ideals as “normal” and “correct” ones.

How do we become comfortable with our thoughts and emotions? The key is silence…. SURPRISE! Conscious breathing and keeping calm helps us analize our thoughts better, make better desicions. Becoming one with the world around you as opposed to just going by it is another way to get in tune with you.

In order to concentrate, to finish an essay, to work faster, to write a book, to have a serious conversation etc… we ask for silence. Then, why not give into it all the time? Why not be focused throughout our day? Why wait until an “important” moment presents itself to ask for silence? Our whole lives, actions, reactions and desicions are important all the time.

What are you waiting for? The inner you is waiting anxiously to be heard! You have so many desires, ideas, and aspirations inside of you just itching to come about! Welcome them! WELCOME YOURSELF!
